LIVE UNITED
The JEMS Project is honored to have received a $6,000.00 grant from the United Way of Cumberland County (UWCC) supporting the COVID-19 Relief Fund, which provided food and sustenance to over 390 individuals and family members who have been affected by the COVID-19 Pandemic and were in need of food.

Culminating in Jan 2021, the grant allowed us to purchase grocery store gift cards, which were distributed to those in need through 13 Community Partners.  We are very grateful for our Community Partners and their integrity in supporting the communities in which they serve.

Thank you UWCC for entrusting us to help make a difference beyond that which we all may never fully understand.

Senior Meals Program

In December 2020, The JEMS Project was honored to receive a grant of $550.00 to conduct a hot meal food program for 31 of our community Senior Citizens.

Specially prepared meals were catered from one of our local restaurants and distributed to ensure that our community Seniors received a nutritious, hot meal!

A sincere "Thank You!" goes out to our gracious community funder; our host; our supporting restaurants, Cafe de Belton and Chick-fil-A (Hope Mills); and our many volunteers!

$5.00 Grocery Gift Card Campaign

How far can $20.00 go?..., $20.00 can purchase a pack of bacon, a carton of eggs, a package of grits, a gallon of orange juice, and a loaf of bread; enough to feed a family of 4 a good breakfast, a couple of times over.

How far can $20.00 go?...$20.00 can purchase a 5-lb pack of chicken, a bag rice, a head of cabbage, a couple of cans of Cream of Mushroom soup, and cornbread mix to feed a family of 4 an excellent dinner, a couple of times over, with some money remaining.

During these challenging times of our society, nation, and world dealing with the Covid virus, it is understood that many families are without their daily sustenance.

There is such a great need and there are many people with great hearts, as yourself.  Our call to action was to supply grocery store gift cards to families in need, and in June 2020, we started a $5.00 Campaign.

Our friends and supporters were asked to donate $5.00 for the purchase of $20.00 gift cards, which were distributed through local and regional non-profits to support the communities they serve.  To date, we have had 100+ contributors and have distributed $480 in grocery store gift cards and $150 in community support.

We are very grateful for all of you who have contributed and please never minimize the impact of your contribution!
